It has been quite awhile. Here’s to bringing back a ghost of sorts…
So…what’s new, you may ask…
Well, dearest Tumblr, nearly everything. Since the last time I made a post on here, I have:
-become a Master of Music (M.M.)
-worked (again) at a bike shop
-applied to every music teaching job in NY State with little results
-worked (again) at a bike shop
-had a few failed auditions
-had a very successful recital
-fallen “out” of and subsequently “in” love with my instrument
-become gainfully employed with the biggest bicycle company in the country (requiring a move to a big city and some gosh darn more than decent benefits…and a company that allows dogs at the workplace AND gives me money to ride my bike to work…I mean, folks, that’s just plain awesome)
So…there it is, in a nutshell. Marablog is moving on. My first “real” job is in the field that has more or less been my “back up” field, persay, for the past 6 years. And you know what? That’s okay. That’s MORE than okay. I love bicycles, and more importantly, I love bike people (most of them!) and culture. I am pumped to start a career, surrounded by people who are passionate about similar things. And, well…these days, dear college grads, you have to take what you can get.
Anywho…so here I am, with two degrees under my belt in an unrelated field. “What about music!?” some may ask (my Dad chooses not to talk to me anymore because of my decision). Well, friends, I have recently fallen back in love with classical music and the flute. I WILL continue to play, and I will indeed continue to make music and take auditions as they come (which is not too often these days). So, all is well on the career front.

Sure. Well. Things are good. And not. I’ve made some big mistakes. I have some really big regrets. This is partially why I am reviving this Tumblr. I think some things are meant to be.
